You can now update your own job preferences in the Zen app and choose to see roles outside them. More roles to choose from, and you decide which ones to take.
Currently available to verified educators in Denver for daily roles.
Update your job preferences
Open the Zen app.
Go to Settings → Job preferences.
Update what you’d like:
Employment preferences: the type of work you’re looking for.
Grades: the grades you’re happy to work with.
Subjects: the subjects you teach (teachers only).
Save your changes.
You’ll see roles at both charter and district schools. Your educator role, education level and experience are managed by the Zen team. If any of these look wrong, get in touch with us.
See roles outside your preferences
Go to Open roles.
Turn on Show roles outside my preferences.
Browse the new section of roles, clearly labelled as outside your preferences.
Pick up any role that suits you, just like any other role.
You’ll only see roles that match your educator role, plus any required qualifications or languages.

Role cards now show helpful context, like whether a role includes personal care. Read these before you accept so you know what to expect.

Why am I being asked to review my preferences?
The first time you open the app after this update, we’ll ask you to check your preferences. It only takes a minute and helps us show you roles you’ll want. You then access these preferences again under Profile > Preferences > Job Preferences
Can I turn off roles outside my preferences?
Yes. Turn off Show roles outside my preferences in Open roles at any time.
I still can’t see a role I expected. Why?
Positions must match the educator roles you have been vetted for, and any required qualifications or languages. You’ll also need the Zen app with notifications on to accept roles.
